| Bloat Information |
|
The primary indicator that your
dog may bloat seems to be age and having a primary relative who has
bloated. I would think if our dog HAS a primary relative who has
bloated, we would want to pay special attention to the mechanical
and dietary influences for bloat. It is an interesting bit of
research....

| IBD or IBS? What is it? |
IBD or IBS is short for Irritable
Bowel Disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is becoming more
popular with our dogs and dogs in general. IBD/IBS is
controllable by diet. If you are interested in more
information on this, please contact
Carol Krickeberg.

| Research Studies |
The Rottweiler Health Foundation
is excited about upcoming research managed by well-known canine
cardiologist and SAS researcher Kate Meurs, DVM. Dr. Meurs is about
to initiate a new research study targeted at familial SAS discovery.
This study will identify the genetic marker of SAS, eventually
allowing for the first development of a SAS genetic test.
Many Rottweiler owners have already responded to the call for
samples, but the study is still in need of more blood DNA samples
from both SAS affected and SAS cleared dogs.
